NFL ALUMNI AND BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU HEART OF TEXAS EDUCATION FOUNDATION TEAM UP TO DEVELOP TOMORROW’S BUSINESS LEADERS

Educational Programs for Youth and Small Businesses will Emphasize Leadership, Ethics and Trust: Essential Building Blocks for Success in Business and Sports

LAS VEGAS (February 7, 2024) – Today, National Football League Alumni, Inc., a 501(c)3 charitable foundation (NFL Alumni) and the Better Business Bureau Heart of Texas Education Foundation (BBB) announced the launch of a multi-year partnership.  Together, the organizations will offer educational programs promoting leadership, ethics, integrity and trust among youth, as well as small businesses. These programs will be focused initially in Central Texas and then scaled across other parts of the U.S. In partnership with NFL Alumni’s local chapters, the programs will equip individuals with essential skills for business by drawing from key principles learned from sports.

Building on BBB’s decade-long commitment to ethics education, BBB and NFL Alumni will offer in-person sessions for direct engagement, online modules for accessibility and event-based activities through two separate, but parallel programs—one focused on youth and the other on small business leaders.

“On the field, we talk a lot about playing fair and playing by the rules, earning the trust of your teammates and being accountable,” said Warren Moon, 9-time Pro Bowl, Hall of Fame quarterback for the Houston Oilers and spokesperson for the partnership. “Through the NFL Alumni-BBB partnership, retired, successful NFL players will share their experiences with youth and small businesses to promote excellence in business and life.”

“For over a century, both BBB and the NFL have been actively engaging in their communities to bring people together through respect, trust and a shared identity,” said Carrie Angell Hurt, president and CEO of Better Business Bureau Heart of Texas Education Foundation. “We are excited to join with the NFL Alumni to better serve our youths, support small businesses, and encourage entrepreneurship not only in Central Texas, but also the rest of the nation.”

“We are proud to partner with the Better Business Bureau Heart of Texas Education Foundation on this important endeavor which reflects our strong commitment to ethics and integrity,” said Brad Edwards, CEO of NFL Alumni. “By empowering retired players toward the development of youth in Texas and other parts of the country, we are fulfilling our mission around caring for kids, caring for our own and caring for our community.”
