John Haines - Vikings, Colts; 1984-88

The best part of the NFL Alumni is the opportunity to stay connected to former players and friends with an ability to give back to your local community. It also provides a venue to help our won with programs and resources that are available to former players.

Having been a former in NFL cheerleader, I am uniquely positioned to serve as an active member and current chapter officer within the NFL alumni association. This allows me to leverage my platform to inspire and make a positive impact particularly as a role model through the alumni’s dedication to our youth, our own and our community outreach programs. I’ve demonstrated the importance of volunteering with hard work, discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork within this great organization and will continue to dedicate my efforts to amplify the alumni’s initiatives.

Stepping onto that field as an inaugural Jacksonville Roar of the Jaguars cheerleader was a dream come true – a chapter filled with vibrant memories and the spirit of a community that truly embraced us. However, after the seasons ended, the question arose of how to stay connected to that unique NFL sisterhood and brotherhood and continue making a difference in Jacksonville and nationally. The NFL Alumni Association provided that answer for me. From joining the NFL Alumni Jacksonville Chapter, a familiar sense of camaraderie and belonging was felt again. Connecting with former players and cheerleaders to share stories, experiences, and a mutual passion for giving back is incredible. The Association offers a platform for community involvement, especially through their ‘Caring for Kids' initiatives. Whether participating in events such as a football and cheer clinic, or networking with fellow alumni, the NFL Alumni Association has provided me with a meaningful way to continue contributing to the city. They fulfill their mission of caring for the community, charitable giving, and membership is a source of pride. I recommend the NFL Alumni Association wholeheartedly to anyone who has been part of the NFL family looking for a way to stay connected, continue growing, and make a positive impact.

Being a cheerleader member of the NFL Alumni , I am proud to be involved with an organization that celebrates tradition, promotes service and uplifts our communities. My journey has come full circle from cheering on the sidelines with spirit and energy for the players to now standing alongside those players to drive initiatives, engage in community services and to uphold our legacy we share. Being part of the NFL Alumni is like a "Homecoming," shaping the future of our organization and how its a powerful reminder of where we all started and how impactful we truly are together now.
