Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
The National Football League Alumni Association is seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer to join our team. This leader will serve as a key member of the executive team to help shape the company’s strategy and business plan for all revenue generating elements within the organization, and accountability in aligning and building strategic partnerships in accordance with non-profit regulations as dictated by the Internal Revenue Service Codes.
The Senior Vice President & COO will work closely with the CEO to create and implement the strategic direction of the organization’s long-term business model and revenue growth trajectory.
The person selected for this role should have a strong background in non-profit strategic planning, sales and marketing management, financial analysis, partnership development, leadership, communication, and problem-solving to drive revenue growth and business success.
Requirements and skills
· 20+ total years of relevant experience
· Prior experience as a COO, preferably within the non-profit industry
· Passion for the company’s mission.
· Critical Thinking – strategic and highly analytical.
· Interpersonal/Communication Skills – an innate ability to channel different points of view; Able to establish and maintain excellent relationships and credibility quickly; Create team atmosphere with internal staff while achieving key objectives; Excellent consulting skills as well as technical writing and public speaking.
· Maturity – provide a good balance of risk taking and judgment; Is aggressive and confident; Able to operate independently.
· Professional – unquestionable integrity, credibility, and character; Who has demonstrated high moral and ethical behavior.
· Proven track record of growing revenue through marketing, branding, fundraising, community relations, and partnerships.
· Proven experience developing and executing business strategy.
· Significant general management and P&L experience
· Ability to craft and execute a business strategy
· Sports administration experience.
· A firm understanding of Finance, Sales, Fundraising, and Marketing best practices.
Strong technical experience with Salesforce and other business productivity tools.
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in business administration, or related field preferred.
- Ten years or greater in driving and implementing revenue growth.
- Proven experience as a Senior Director of Advancement preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
