“No Shortcuts: A Town Hall on Positive Mental Health & Behavior Tools for Athletic Success”

“No Shortcuts” is a town hall style panel discussion on mental health factors that contribute to the overall health and health outcomes of athletes and the general public. Held during Super Bowl week, the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Alzheimer’s Association, George Washington University, and Florida International University joined forces to support the NFL Alumni Association’s Health and Wellness Initiative. A partnership with the NFL Alumni Association provides a unique opportunity for researchers, clinicians, and celebrities to attract and interact with community members of all ages.

Dr. Robert Turner II, former professional football player and assistant professor of clinical research and leadership at The George Washington University, School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr. Turner is the author of Not For Long: The Life and Career of the NFL Athlete (Oxford Press) and contributor on the LeBron James HBO documentary “Student Athlete.”
