The Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Seniors Committee late last week selected 25 semi-finalists who now will receive further consideration for enshrinement in Canton in 2023.

Each of the 25 senior semi-finalists played his last NFL game no later than the 1996 season.

The Seniors Committee media members next vote to trim their list to 12 candidates and the results of that cutdown will be announced July 27.

The Seniors Committee then will meet on August 16 to select as many as three senior alumni for final consideration as members of the Class of 2023. The Raiders Cliff Branch is the lone senior who will be inducted as a member of the 2022 class during Enshrinement Weekend next month.
