Pro Football Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith is a Florida native, but he continues to make an impact in his adopted state of Texas.
Smith played 13 seasons (1990-2002) with the Cowboys and has been involved in non-football businesses for the last 15 years.
He is the President and CEO of Emmitt Smith Enterprises which has construction and real estate as its two core businesses.
Smith’s company recently purchased a 30,000-square foot building in southern Dallas to redevelop into a mixed-use project. The building previously housed the local Urban League offices, but it has been empty for approximately three years and had fallen into disrepair.
“This type of project in the heart of South Dallas aligns perfectly with our focus,” says Smith. who turns 50 this May. “It will bring opportunity, jobs and a positive, lasting change to an area in need of economic development.”
Cowboys legend Roger Staubach built one of the most successful real estate companies in the country after he retired from football in 1979. Emmitt Smith is following in the footsteps of the Hall of Fame quarterback. We at NFL Alumni wish Emmitt– and all of you who have made real estate a second career– continued success.
