Former Tennessee Titans linebacker Colin Allred (2007-10) announced earlier this month that he is running for Congress in 2018. Allred, who graduated three years ago from the University of California-Berkeley School of Law, will be among the Democratic challengers to 20-year incumbent Republican Pete Sessions (R-Tex). Allred worked for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in Washington, D.C. during the last months of the Obama Administration in 2016. NFL alumni who previously have served in Congress include the late Jack Kemp, Pro Football Hall of Famer Steve Largent, Pro Bowler Jon Runyan and former Redskins quarterback Heath Shuler.
